LUCKY DOING GREAT WITH LAST 3 CHEMO TREATMENTS – JOURNEY WITH LUCKY

Lucky continues to do well during the last 3 Weeks of Chemotherapy Treatments. The Drugs seem to keep Lymph Nodes from swelling and Lucky’s response is very encouraging. The Drugs used in her protocol are being cycled and so far the treatment is successful and she is said to be in remission. Week 2 Drug was called Vincristine. Administered Intravenously, this drug has not caused any side effects in Lucky. She is doing great in her appointments and tolerates the treatments well. Potential Side Effects could be Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, drop in white blood cell count and...

LUCKY’S LYMPH NODES ARE GETTING SMALLER – JOURNEY WITH LUCKY

We are now 5 days into the first round of Chemo and so far so good. Lucky’s Lymph Nodes are getting smaller and the bruising, puffiness and redness are pretty much gone. I still feel swollen Lymph Nodes, but they are noticeable smaller. I am cooking homemade meals every day, nothing fancy or particularly planned. Right now it is important for her to eat and stay strong. I am completely cutting out simple carbs and she is never getting pressed dog food again. Thursday morning I took Lucky to the Animal Specialty Clinic to be seen by an Oncologist. This is a scary trip because reality sets in that this is something very serious. I was still holding out hope that I am spending a lot of money for nothing, meaning, I was hoping to spend a lot of money for a simple solution. A very nice clinic with very nice staff greeted us and set us up in one of the exam rooms.
